Sucroferric oxyhydroxide

Definition: Sucroferric oxyhydroxide, sold under the brand name Velphoro, is a non-calcium, iron-based phosphate binder used for the control of serum phosphorus levels in adults with chronic kidney disease (CKD) on hemodialysis (HD) or peritoneal dialysis (PD). It is used in form of chewable tablets. Sucroferric oxyhydroxide is also known as a mixture of polynuclear iron(III)-oxyhydroxide, sucrose and starches. source: Wikipedia
